Career Navigation for People with Mood Disorders - Part 3:
Going With the Flow: Understanding Your Energy and Rhythms at Work

Join us for our monthly Career Navigation workshop series with Dr. Caroline Fraissinet, designed specifically for people with mood disorders. Each month focuses on a different aspect of building and sustaining work that fits your life.

This third workshop, on 5/23, covers circadian rhythms and energy — and how to work with yours rather than against it. Most career advice treats energy as a willpower problem: push harder, start earlier, be more disciplined. For people with mood disorders, that framing misses something important. Our circadian systems are more sensitive than most, which means that things like an irregular sleep week, a sudden schedule change, or a run of back-to-back meetings don't just cause fatigue — they can have a real impact on mood stability.

So what does your natural energy arc actually look like? What kinds of work deplete you even when you're doing them well? What are the rhythm disruptors hiding inside your workday — and what can you realistically do about them? And when your routine inevitably gets knocked off course, how do you recover without it spiraling?

We’ll introduce you to a tried-and-true framework for mood disorders - Inter-Personal Social Rhythm Therapy (IPSRT) - and apply it to common work challenges. Through reflective activities and peer-informed guidance, you'll leave with a clearer picture of your own patterns and practical tools for building a work life that supports — rather than undermines — your wellbeing.

Building on our award-winning 6-part series, these standalone monthly workshops cover career development topics and building sustainable, meaningful careers while managing mood disorders.
