How We Gather
This is a support group for people who sometimes find it difficult to find support in their lives.

You don't have to be going through a crisis to come here. You might be struggling with a relationship, work, loneliness, a transition, a decision, your sense of direction, or simply something you've been carrying quietly.

This is a place to practice being supported—and supporting others.

When someone chooses to share, they remain in charge of what they need from the group.

After sharing, they can tell us:

“I would like to be heard.”

This means: I don't need you to fix this. I simply want someone to listen and be present with me.

“I would like support.”

This means: I'd appreciate encouraging words, empathy, reassurance, or simply knowing that I'm not alone.

“I would like physical support.”

This might mean a hug or holding hands. Physical contact is always optional and requires consent from everyone involved. No one is ever expected to give or receive physical contact.

“I would like advice.”

This means: I'm open to hearing your thoughts, perspectives, or experiences.

You can also say:

“I'm not sure what I need yet.”

That's okay too.

The practice
We don't assume we know what another person needs.

We ask.

We listen.

We respect the answer.

We don't interrupt someone's experience with our own story.

We don't try to fix people.

We don't judge.

And we don't give advice unless it has been invited.

You are always allowed to pass.

You are always allowed to change your mind.

You are always allowed to say no.

This is a place to practice having the kinds of conversations and connections that can be difficult to find in everyday life.

A place to practice asking for what you need.

A place to practice listening.

A place to practice receiving support.

A place to practice offering support without taking someone's experience away from them.

There is no perfect way to do this.

We're learning together.

And above all, this is a place of respect, consent, curiosity, and presence.
