What Is It About?
Have you ever wondered how people can read with just their fingertips? This International Day of Charity along with International Literacy Day, we invite you to discover beyond sight and explore another way of reading and writing than most of us are used to! Through this workshop, we’ll be learning Braille and how different forms of literacy can open doors to knowledge and connection, giving us a chance to better understand different perspectives and how we can support one another.

What to Expect
šŸ‘‹ Braille Workshop
A beginner-friendly introduction to Braille where we’ll:
• Learn how the six-dot system works
• Learn how letters and numbers are represented
• Explore what learning through our fingertips can be like
• Try reading and writing our names and simple words in Braille
šŸ¤ Community Insights: Gain a thoughtful glimpse into how blind and visually impaired individuals read, the unique challenges they navigate, and how we can support them
šŸŽ (Optional) Donations
For those who would like to contribute to our local foundations, you’re welcome to bring:
• Sensory-stimulation items
• Toys featuring sounds or different textures
For those who are interested in participating beyond this event, you are also welcome to join us on a separate day to create simple tactile learning materials requested by a school that is supporting people who are blind and visually impaired.

Who Is It For?
✤ Anyone curious to learn Braille, no prior knowledge or experience is needed
✤ Anyone who enjoys hands-on activities
✤ Anyone who wants to learn something new while giving back to the community
Just come ready to discover something new, have fun, and share a little kindness.

This is a free community event. All materials are provided as a gift from the organizer to help create an inclusive space where everyone feels welcome. Optional contributions to help us maintain this community are always welcomed and appreciated šŸŒšŸ’™
