Metropolitan Walkers is part of the Ramblers, Britain's walking charity. All welcome for 3 'taster' walks, after which please join the Ramblers - info on the Met Walkers website

Freddie Mercury and Queen famously played Knebworth in 1986 but who needs Bohemian Rhapsody when you can have a pleasant stroll through the pile's delightful parkland? Two other stately homes and an evocative ruined chapel also feature as we take in the countryside west of Stevenage, a new town that at its heart has an ancient village, the location of our final watering hole. Pub stop for drinks only.

Please bring a packed lunch.

Travel: Take the 10.06 from Kings Cross (10.12 Finsbury Park), arriving at Knebworth at 10.46.

Buy return to Stevenage.

Grading: Moderate.
For an explanation of the gradings, please see the FAQ - please consider both the length and grade when choosing a walk.

Finish point: Stevenage
