Ralph Waldo Emerson’s "Self-Reliance" is an essay of about 9,000 words—roughly a 50-minute read.

It was written in 1841 but Emerson's ideas about personal agency, purpose and originality feel even more pressing today, when algorithms often shape our choices.

Let’s get together, have a drink, and talk about how these ideas connect to AI, echo chambers, individual taste, and the polarization of political discourse.
