The Appalachian Mountain Club is America's oldest conservation and recreation organization. The AMC promotes the protection, enjoyment and stewardship of the mountains, forests, waters and trails of the Appalachian region. The mission of AMC Worcester is to encourage people to enjoy and appreciate the natural world because we believe that successful conservation depends on this experience.

Bike Nashua River Rail Trail (24 miles)

This is a 24-mile round-trip ride follows a scenic rail trail from Ayer, MA to Nashua, NH. This will be a moderate paced ride averaging 10-12 mph with slight elevation gain of 300 feet. The route is a mix of pavement and compact gravel, shaded by trees and passes by wetlands. Along the way, we’ll pass through Ayer, Groton, Pepperell, and Dunstable, MA before reaching Nashua, NH. We’ll ride 12 miles to Nashua, then return the same way. Depending on the time and how the group feels, there could be coffee or pastry stop along the way. Plan to meet at 9:45 am for a prompt 10:00 am start.Requirements:
- Bike in good working condition
- Properly fitting helmet
- Water and snacks

Our Leadership Training Program equips volunteers and emerging leaders with the tools to:- Lead safe, inclusive, and engaging outdoor experiences.
- Foster welcoming, community-centered chapter programs.
- Strengthen communication and team-building skills.
Who Should Participate?
- Current or aspiring volunteers and committee members.
- Current or aspiring hiking, biking, paddling, and skiing volunteer trip leaders.
- Anyone ready to deepen their impact within AMC.

3rd Wednesday Potluck/Speaker Event
Northborough Historical Society, 50 Main St, Northborough, MA, USWe may know the Blackstone River Valley mainly for its hiking, paddling, cycling venues. But this nearly fifty-mile long corridor also holds geological, cultural, historical significance … right here in the heart of our greater Worcester home region. The Blackstone Heritage Corridor organization was chartered as the primary caretakers of this significant resource. Members of the BHC team--Anya Wilczynski, Executive Director; Lee Adams, Board Member; and others on their team--will tell us about this national treasure, their conservation work, recreational activities in the corridor, and more.
Bring a dish to share - appetizer, entree, dessert, beverage. Doors open at 6:30, dinner at 7:00, speaker shortly after.
Location: Northboro Historical Society, 52 Main St. (Rt. 20) - parking lot on School Street.

AMC 150 Worcester East-West TrailsFest
Institute Park, Worcester, MA, USJoin the Relay 150 TrailsFest Celebration at Institute Park in Worcester.
TrailsFest, which has been held annually since 2018, coincides with National Trails Day and is co-hosted by a group of organizations including the Appalachian Mountain Club and Park Spirit.
At this event, we celebrate trails in all their forms, including hiking trails, bike paths, waterways, and climbing routes. Here is what the day will look like:
- Morning through 12pm: Activities throughout the area. Search AMC150 and TrailsFest to find your adventure. Registration may be required
- 12pm to 4:00pm: AMC150 Worcester Chapter TrailsFest celebration at Institute Park. Food, live music, speakers, friends, and fun!
- BYO non-alcoholic beverages and a chair.
