Book Club Event

Ladies, if you are interested, I would like to invite you to my home for a book discussion. I live in Raleigh off of Louisburg Road and will send my address once you RSVP on the Black and Silver site.

The book to be discussed is Keeper of Lost Children, a historical fiction novel by Sadeqa Johnson.
Published in February 2026, it follows three interconnected characters in post-WWII Germany and 1960s America: Ethel Gathers, an American officer's wife who helps abandoned mixed-race children; Ozzie Phillips, a Black soldier facing racism; and Sophia Clark, a young woman integrating a boarding school. The story, inspired by the real-life "Brown Baby Plan" and a woman named Mabel Grammer, explores themes of love, identity, and the hidden story of Black American soldiers and German women after the war.
