The Resistance Avalon is a fast social deduction game where five to ten players take on secret roles in the world of King Arthur. Some players are loyal knights who want missions to succeed, while others serve Mordred and try to make them fail. Before each mission the group debates, chooses a team, and then secretly votes for success or failure. Every vote and accusation gives clues about who can be trusted, but traitors will lie and bluff to stay hidden. Merlin knows which players are evil, yet must guide the table without revealing his identity, because the Assassin wins if Merlin is correctly named at the end of the game. Simple rules make it easy to teach in minutes, and a full game usually finishes in about thirty minutes, making it an ideal choice for parties and game nights. Avalon fits well with mixed experience groups, since new players can follow their instincts while veterans explore deeper layers of table talk, signaling, and misdirection. The compact card format makes the game easy to pack for travel or conventions, and high replay value comes from different role combinations and ever changing group dynamics.
