MakeHaven is a gathering place and workshop for makers, creators, tinkerers and dreamers. The environment supports the development of and collaboration on a wide variety of projects, including: mechanics, electronics, crafts, digital art, biology and woodworking. Through cooperative projects led by MakeHaven members the project and program participants gain a greater understanding of how to create, repair and reuse items. In addition to project-oriented activities the general public will benefit from skill building workshops hosted in the space.

Join us at MakeHaven for an exciting evening dedicated to Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) and community-driven technology! This meetup is part of a global celebration marking forty years of software freedom, hosted in partnership with the Free Software Foundation (FSF) and sponsored by PrivacySafe, a New Haven-based company committed to private, secure, and anonymous technology built entirely with FOSS.
Come share your favorite moments from the FOSS movement, demo your software or Open Hardware projects, and connect with others who are passionate about digital freedom. The event will feature interactive demos of privacy-focused tools, discussions on the impact of AI on software development and licensing, and a celebration of how far the community has come.
Whether you're a seasoned developer or curious beginner who wants to learn more, this is a great chance to explore new ideas and get inspired.
