Starting in a couple of hours, an open beta will take place free to anyone with a battle.net account.  Accounts are free to register, so if you don't have one you aren't on the hook for anything.  You can play any of the five classes in the game up to level 13, so if nothing else you can get a taste of the game before it comes out.
