keeping
Amanda, If you are looking for coops,
I would highly reccommend getting in contact with Luke at "All Cooped Up". He
is such a nice guy and will be willing to help you with whatever you need.
Luke is a friend of mine so if you would like, I could pass your email along
to him and he could get in touch with you. Just let me know. Once you get your new coop,
come visit us at the Wicked Chicken Auction. If you are not familiar with the
breeds and such, we will be glad to help you! Our auction is every Sunday at
2:00pm. We allow all people attending the auction to view all of the animals
being sold from 1:00pm-2:00pm. Come find me when you get to the auction and I
can show you around and help you find what you are looking
for. If you
ever have any questions about chickens, nutrition, health, etc. please feel
free to send us an email and we will be glad to help you in any way we
can. Good
Luck:)

[The-Raleigh-Durham-Backyard-Poultry-Meetup-Group] New to chicken
keeping
Date: Thu, 10 Jan[masked]:07:04 -0500
Hi Everyone! I have been thinking about keeping hens for awhile
but was finally given the ok by my HOA. :) I missed the 101 meetings in the
fall. I've been educating myself on BYC and also thanks to wonderful friends
with lots of experience. Wanted to check here to see if anyone recommends an
additional sources of info to get off on the right foot.
We are also not a DIY family, nor do we have the time to devote to
constructing a coop, so we're going to be buying one. There are lots of folks
on Craigslist, and of course Carolina Coops. Does anyone recommend a
particular person/company to make it? We are in South Durham in a subdivision
with a moderate sized backyard, and I'm thinking we'll keep maybe 6 birds in
an enclosed run.
Thanks for all your help in
advance!
~Amanda
