Meetup, the best start-up to work for in NYC, is growing, and we're looking for superstar talent to come join the team.

Our goal is a "Meetup Everywhere about Most Everything", and we're on our way. We help people use the internet to get off the internet and form local community. Meetups make a difference in people's lives and can change the world. We're fast-growing, based in downtown New York City, venture capital-backed, just-turned-profitable, and a great place for top talent to do their best work.
We are a company that values doers over talkers, mentors over managers, and self-management over bureaucracy. We are a company where people who take risks and win are rewarded and given opportunities to grow.
Our team is smart, ambitious, and passionate; the environment is relaxed and a lot of fun despite regular, tight deadlines. We are focused on quick, quality completion of projects and excited by what we do.
A job here means that your work will be seen by millions of people every month. Even better, your efforts will make this world a better place as you help build strong, lasting, real-world local communities.

Come to Meetup HQ and learn more!
Meetup believes in the power of self-organized groups and so that's how our product gets built. When people are passionate about what they are working on, awesome things happen. Our Development Team picks the projects they feel will make the biggest difference and form small cross-functional "Hack Teams". While other tech companies may have one-day hackathons, development at Meetup is an ongoing hackathon. To make sure people can actually use what we build, we do user-testing multiple times per week and multiple launches based not on schedule but product readiness. True agile development.
And what if you're not on the Development Team? Well, we still expect you to contribute your ideas and you can still participate on a Hack Team as long as you're getting done what needs to get done.
Speaking of expectations, to make sure we have the right people on board, we hold everyone to the following standards. They are evaluated during our semi-annual performance reviews and when we interview, we ask ourselves if the candidate possesses all these qualities and abilities. So, if this sounds like you, then maybe you should work at Meetup!
Every Meetup Team Member Must:
And most importantly,
Get stuff done that makes a difference! ('nuff said)
Meetup HQ is a place that values its Team Members and understands that benefits and financial security are important factors when considering which company to call their home. We offer benefits that allow you to make the choices that are best for you. These include:
In addition to the traditional benefits above, people join Meetup and stay to have long-term, fulfilling experiences because of some other kinds of benefits as well. Some are tangible; some are intangible. Meetup is a very special place to work and here is just some of what life at Meetup HQ has to offer:
Meetup has a strong mission that motivates our Team Members to make a real impact — on the company and on communities everywhere.
Reach a goal, add a Perk. So far? Free soda fridge, fresh fruit always available, Breakfast Tuesdays, monthly gift cards to Whole Foods and 2 Summer Fridays. More to come!
We also have a peer-nominated award program to celebrate each others' successes. The ceremony is one you have to experience to believe.
More members, more Organizers, more Meetup Groups, more revenue, more Meetup HQ Team Members!
Spending time with our members and hearing their stories reinforces that our work makes a real difference.
Because we enjoy spending time together and learning from each other, we have Meetup Groups intended just for Meetup HQ Team Members. Some are social and some are educational & all are fun.
We invite the greatest minds in the online world to come talk to the team. Awesome 2009 guests include Jack Dorsey (Twitter), David Karp (Tumblr), Tony Hsieh (Zappos), and Eli Pariser (moveon.org).
