The Meetup Blog is a community center, town hall, meeting place and community newspaper for Meetup's members and staff. It's primarily a place where our members can tell their stories about how their meetup groups are making a difference to themselves, their community and the world. By reading, watching and listening to members' stories and staffs' and guests' posts, they can experience vicariously what it would be like to be part of a meetup group. And it's a place for the outside world to look in. The media, bloggers and the curious can take a look at a lively place full of compelling stories changing lives in every city around the world.

  • You will be searching our community for stories that bring alive how 'real groups make a real difference.'
  • You'll solicit stories from our members and coach them to make them compelling.
  • You'll be soliciting stories from our staff and guests to post about new product features, about the power of self-organized groups in the world at large, and about meetup groups they love.
  • You'll be able to stand back and let our membership, staff and guests express themselves, and of course, you'll be able to write compelling stories and commentary yourself, expressing the personality of Meetup and its mission.

The Candidate

  • Must be excellent editor
  • Must have experience with a community blog
  • Must be completely comfortable in the blogosphere
  • Must have significant familiarity with the web; a 'net native' is preferred

  • Ideally you'll be a Meetup member or organizer...someone who knows what it's like to be part of the movement of self-organized groups improving lives and changing the world!
