Onyx News April 29, 2010: New Events and Other Important Stuff- please read!

Greetings Onyx,
I hope everyone is well on this lovely sunny afternoon. Just a few reminders/announcements to share:

  • I can't wait to kick off the birthday weekend with tomorrow night's event at Gravity. Hope you can make it.

  • Reminder about the Coming to America movie night at the Uptown- if you haven't done so, please let me know your full name (if I don't know it). I will send an email request tomorrow if I'm missing any names. Also, if your plans have changed, please update your rsvp no later than tomorrow night.

  • Okay, apparently the Mayweather fight is on Saturday and a lot of people are planning to go so I figured we'd kick off the post movie night out at Paradiso because they are showing the fight there. From there, we'll play it by ear. Make sure you have my cell number so you can determine our coordinates.

  • NEW EVENT- Sunday Brunch at Maxwell's: Since May 2nd is my birthday, I figured we could join East Bay Black Professionals and Bay Area Divas of Color on Sunday for their brunch at Maxwell's. There are already alot of people rsvp'd through those groups (including myself). If you'd like to join, please rsvp here only if you haven't rsvp'd elsewhere.

  • NEW EVENT- Clothes Swamp Fundraiser in Oakland: Check it out! Update your wardrobe for a good cause.

  • Seeking more volunteers to be Career Panelists for College Track: College Track still needs volunteers to be panelists for their end of semester career panel series. It's only for an hour and since most of the students are people of color, it would be great to have panelists of color to describe their jobs to them.

  • NEW EVENT- Black and White Ball May 22nd: Check it out! I know the tickets are pricey but this is one signature SF event and it will be a fabulous time.
