Mr. Eugene Zhang
Mr. Zhang is the co-founder of TSVC and a successful entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. He founded Jeda, a chip design tool company, and Innospring, the first Chinese business incubator in Silicon Valley. He is the inventor of Vera, the mainstream verification language for chip design. As the head of TSVC, he led a number if TSVC unicorn investments, including Zoom, Ginkgo Bioworks, Carta, etc., and he was the signer of Zoom’s first institutional investor check. Mr. Zhang actively serves on the boards of various organizations for young students, entrepreneurs, and innovators. He is a mentor of Tsinghua Siyuan Program, Tsinghua Schwarzman College and Silicon Valley pilot program. He was a member if the Council of TEEC of Tsinghua Entrepreneurs Association and the chairman of TEEC North America Branch. He is also the founder of TSVC Giving Fund in Silicon Valley.

Mr. Zhang graduated from the Department of Electronics of Tsinghua University in 1980s and obtained his master’s degree on communication engineering from Syracuse University.

Dr. Chun Xia
Dr. Xia is the co-founder of TSVC and a successful serial entrepreneur in Silicon Valley. He has founded three technology companies, developed, and sold the world’s earliest personalized marketing system, as well as a leading edge container technology. He was the chief architect and an early contributor in cloud computing at Sun Microsystems. Dr. Xia actively invests in deep tech, AI, SaaS, community economy, etc. Dr. Xia is one of the founding members of Tsinghua Entrepreneurs & Executive Club (TEEC) and was the first president of the North America Chapter. Since 2001, he has been serving as the mentor of Siyuan program of Tsinghua University, and the entrepreneurship mentor of Tsinghua Business incubator x-lab.
Dr. Xia Chun holds a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering and a master's degree in computer science from Tsinghua University, and a doctorate in computer science from UIUC.

Mr. Spencer Greene
Spencer Greene joined TSVC as a General Partner in 2018, after 25+ years in Silicon Valley as an entrepreneur, tech executive, and angel investor. He co-founded two startups in the 1990s, then spent twelve years at Juniper Networks in engineering, product management, and corporate development leadership roles. More recently he had executive roles at Endace (acquired), Ticketfly (acquired), and GreenLight Workforce Solutions.

Mr. Steve Wei
Steve is the CEO and co-founder of Top Network, a blockchain startup. He is a successful serial entrepreneur. A founding employee at WebEx, Steve held multiple key positions at WebEx from 1996 to 2003. In 2004, he founded Cenwave Communications, a video conferencing software company successfully sold to Huawei in 2010. In 2012, Steve founded Dingtone, a public listed company in China, which operates apps including Dingtone, CoverMe and SkyVPN that altogether have attracted over 50 million users.

Deep-tech startups have the advantage of higher entry barrier, but due to its unique domain knowledge, it is difficult to communicate with investors for fundraising. In this TSVC "Building the Next Unicorn" event, three deep-tech entrepreneurs and investors from TSVC will analyze the common misunderstandings of deep-tech entrepreneurship and reveal the fundraising strategies of deep-tech seed rounds. TSVC has been deeply invested in deep-tech startups for
more than 11 years, with the investment team all being domain experts in various fields. Most of them are successful entrepreneurs and are keen to serve deep-tech entrepreneurs.

In 2006, he became the co-founder and VP of Engineering of EasyWay, which designed and implemented Chinese high-speed rail passenger transit service systems.
Charles holds a BSEE and MSEE from, and is a Lecturer/Assistant Professor at, Tsinghua University, and was visiting scholar at the University of California, San Diego.

Dr. Xu is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and executive. He is the co-founder and CEO of eBots Inc, an innovator and manufacturer of intelligent robotics for precision manufacturing. He was the CEO and cofounder of Silevo Inc, a solar cell innovator and photovoltaic (PV) solar module manufacturer. Silevo was successfully acquired by SolarCity, a Tesla Company.
Dr. Xu earned a Ph.D. in materials science from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He also holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from Osaka University in Japan. He received his B.S. in semiconductor Physics and devices from Zhejiang University in China. Dr. Xu holds 104 U.S. patents.
