I've already got PhillyPUG on board for this, of course! :) Jacob is an amazing guy, I finally got to know him at PyCon this year.

Hi,

Jacob Kaplan-Moss is a co-creator of the Django web framework and will be at Wharton to speak at our conference on Thursday July 16th. He'll be giving a talk on security, but he also has a REALLY GREAT talk on tech community ready to go - he gave it to 1,500 people at PyCon earlier this year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIJdFxYlEKE.

Jacob is interested in giving this same talk here in Philly and I think he'll draw an amazing crowd. I can get the space and I wonder if PANMA would be willing to co-host the event? We're also reaching out to PhillyPUG to see if they want to host.

Hosting would just involve "selling" tickets and doing what we normally do. I think this could be a great opportunity for us to partner with other groups and expose PANMA to a larger community. We could invite other co-hosts too, but right now we're only thinking about PANMA and PhillyPUG.

Let me know what you think and if we want to do this, I'll get the space and introduce the board to JKM.

ps. I strongly encourage everyone to watch the youtube above - it's really excellent and applicable to the entire tech and creative community.

Thanks.
