Aditya Mehta's stupendous achievemnt.

Dear All,

I have great news to share with you.  Aditya Mehta did it!!!  He won Silver Medal for India in 10 kms race with an excellent timing of 18.11 min in Asian Para cycling Championship in New Delhi today.  This translates to a speed of over 33 kms per hour which is remarkable.  He achieved this despite a bad fall while training in Hyderabad last week wherein his artificial leg came off and he somersaulted and injured himself badly.  But with tremendous commitment and resolve, he proceeded to New Delhi to participate in the above event and won laurels for himself, HBC and for India.

All of us at HBC are justifiably proud of Aditya’s stupendous achievement. He is an inspiration to not only physically challenged cyclists but also to all of us. Aditya is our active rider and member of HBC’s Organising Committee.  We are sure that he would win many more medals for India including at the Paralympics at Rio in 2016.

His next event in the Asian Para cycling championships which is a 40 kms race is scheduled for this evening.  Let us collectively wish him all the very best for this evening’s race, while congratulating him for this morning’s achievement.

With best regards,

D V MANOHAR,

CHAIRMAN, HYDERABAD BICYCLING CLUB
