Wilderness Advanced First Aid Certification - WAFA - 18-19-20-21 Jan 2018 Hanifl Centre in partnership with AERIE Back Country Medicine, USA, announces the second internationally accredited and certified WILDERNESS ADVANCED FIRST AID COURSE in Hyderabad in collaboration with Great Hyderabad Adventure Club This course comprises of a 28-hour (WAFA) module and a 4-hour Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) module and is accredited by Wilderness Medicine Society (WMS) and American Heart Association (AHA). ABOUT WILDERNESS MEDICINE By definition ‘Wilderness’ in the context of ‘Wilderness Medicine’ means when one is at least an hour away from medical help, which effectively in the Indian scenario applies to almost every place, let alone the remote & wild places. “Wilderness Medicine means standard medical principles provided in a context that requires attention to extended contact time with the patient, environmental extremes, treatment with limited and non-specialised equipment that may require improvisation, and the possible lack of communication.” Curriculum: Patient Assessment & Extended Care Injury/ Illness Identification & Management, including: Bleeding, Sprains, Shock, Spinal, Head, Chest, Wounds, Fractures, Cold, Heat, Lightning, Altitude, Drowning, Anaphylaxis, Bites, Stings, Medical Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Emergency Response Procedures Certification Overview: Integrating classroom instruction with scenario based learning 32 hours curriculum over 4 days Certification: valid for 2 years Taught in: English, Hindi Fees: Rs 9000/- per person How to Join. * Great Hyderabad Adventure Club - GHAC is the Trekking and Adventure Club of Hyderabad and caters to Hiking, Trekking Adventure and Outdoor Adventure Activities all over India. we also conduct Bird Watching and Adventure sports like Bouldering, Rock climbing, Rappelling, Paragliding and White Water Rafting.

GHAC is registered with Govt of India as a Not for Profit Adventure Club and is affiliated to the Indian Mountaineering Foundation. The Club is open to all and run by trained and experienced professionals and volunteers.

GHAC has been mentioned into the Limca Books of records -2013. The club is growing and is the most active adventure club in India by the sheer number of adventure activities the club does all round the year

* The Club Membership is free and open to everyone above 18 years. Young members above 13 years may participate with parental consent. Children above 6 and upto 12 years may participate along with parents only.

* Safety is priority for us - Our Outdoor Leaders are trained and certified in their respective fields and know first aid and emergency handling. They have significant experience with outdoor activities and work very hard to make each event a safe and enjoyable experience.

* Our Mission is to get people together for the purposes of:

• Character Building, Leadership and Youth Development
