I checked my recipe this a.m. before I ran out the door
to work. I also add half a batch of parsley to my
kale chips.. (love parsley too)
...but I didn't think until now to see how much nutr.
yeast I use.. (I can look at that tonight.)

Nutritional yeast makes it taste 'cheesey'... . my
recipe is called Cheesey Kale Chips
Its also a rich source of B12.. Please try it; I think
you'll like it.. I don't use much.. maybe 1/4 to 1/2
cup per recipe I think.. but it adds so much to this
recipe... OMG! .. I could (and usually do) lick
the bowl.. but that's after its on the kale : )
And believe it or not... all that garlic - once its
dehydrated - you won't notice... but the flavor is
'going to heaven' 'knock your socks off' good.
Green onion is the same - dehydrated....its not very
strong.. and no onion or garlic breath... [and no
vampires either : ) ]
Unpasturized - you shouldn't have a problem with the
shoyu.. Tamari is fine also.. but I do think that's
heated.. I could be wrong on that..
I love cumin and cayenne.. . so that would work for me
too. . and one day I may even add some vegs.. but I
usually want to stuff it in the dehydrator and get it
going before that point.. .

I'm so jealous.. : ( have a kale chip for me.. {or
half a batch : ) } when I get home from work its
too late to start them. but there's kale in my fridge
for this weekend..

I've never tried nutritional yeast in much of anything
- I probably should
-- I've always liked it in other people's dishes!
I use less onion and garlic -- I like cumin and
invariably I wind up with
too much cayenne which I love but I sometimes set it on
fire that way!
I'm kind of antsy about namu shoyu because of the wheat
-- end up using a
few drops of tamari or just leaving it out altogether -

Just put some in the dehydrator - love it so much! J

I don't have my recipe with me.. but if memory
serves...
hmmmm... I use
3/4 cups of raw tahini
5 cloves of garlic.. (I love garlic)
3 to 4 green onions (I love green onions too)
unpasturized shoyu
apple cider vinegar
nutritional yeast
some water
a tiny amount of sea salt.. I think that's about
it. .

I always refer to my recipe for amounts.. . but its
soooooooo darn good!
usually make a fresh batch every weekend... except for
this weekend... . : ( no kale chips this week

Aren't they the best?

Funny but I'll always make two batches of kale for
chips.. and by the time they're done dehydrating I've
eaten at least half of one bunch at every stage of
drying.... Kale chips are good no matter the stage of
making them. . I've wanted to bring them to pot
lucks...but my bag would be empty before I got
there... : ( .....the sign of a gosh darn good
recipe!
