A quick update: everything is coming together nicely. Businesses are donating products and professionals' time, DDOE has officially announced their partnership with CarbonfreeDC, the media is all over us (NewsChannel 8, NPR, etc), the buzz is spreading about the Extreme Green Gala, and we have a great core of volunteers itching to pitch in for the energy efficiency improvements in the 20 homes. Thank you to all of our volunteers for helping us accomplish so much so quickly!
That said, we still have our work cut out for us. While our outreach in Deanwood brought in over 30 applicants (yay!) from families interested in participating, we need to redouble our efforts to get more families on board in Shaw. To give us more time for outreach, we've extended the application deadline for Shaw until September 10.

The festive event will feature high-level speakers (George S. Hawkins, Director of the DC Dept. of Environment has already confirmed), organic food, a bar, music, an environmental art show benefiting WVSA youth art program and more!
