Whether you’re returning to the office, starting a new job, or looking to make a career change, now’s the time to own your worth. In this installment of Meetup Live’s Success Series, you’ll learn how to advocate for yourself in the workplace and earn what you deserve.
Watch Claire Wasserman, founder and author of Ladies Get Paid, for a discussion on how to build your career, break down some of the most common work barriers, and negotiate your salary. You’ll also learn best practices for getting recognized and being rewarded at work.
Main Takeaways/Resources on Career Growth:
- I started Ladies Get Paid because I was very angry and frustrated because I was reading about these horrible statistics around women and work and money. We’ve got the wage gap, leadership gap, investing gap, funding gap. And the more I read, the question was, how can I, as an individual, possibly combat something that is that systemic and that overwhelming.
- If you are not getting the opportunities you want, then you must create those opportunities. Every job that I got pretty much was because of a side project that I had, which showed initiative, that I was self motivated and it also gave me the ability to sort of stretch my wings.
- Now is an amazing time to make a move, a company or a role that you want. I talked to some of the biggest employers in the US. They are hiring like crazy, you’re also seeing people leave. So, go for it. Go for it, whatever it is that you want, you just you literally have nothing to lose.
