Late summer 1993. After stealing a stash of money and drugs, aging raver David flees a forest party and crashes his car deep in the woods.

Trapped in the wreckage, injured and helpless, he hangs suspended between life and death. When a mysterious poacher discovers him, no rescue comes - only a watchful, unsettling presence that seems intent on letting nature finish the job.

As the hours pass by, a tense battle of wills, and wits, unfolds - where survival hinges on outlasting both the wilderness and the predator at its edge.

A gripping thriller set against the backdrop of the British rave scene, Game features Jason Williamson of Sleaford Mods in his first leading role, and was originated through a conversation between co-star Marc Bessant and Geoff Barrow of Portishead. F.W. Murnau’s haunting silent adaptation blends Expressionist drama with epic scale and surreal beauty. Organist Darius Battiwalla returns to the RNCM with a gripping live improvised score, conjuring a dark and dazzling atmosphere as the story of corruption and redemption unfolds on screen. Murnau was also responsible for the classic Nosferatu, and brings the same vivid sensibility to Faust. Tickets are around £20, but you will have to arrange your own. Meet in the bar.

Our night now runs on the first Sunday of the month at the MiniCine, found within the incredible Ducie Street Warehouse, Manchester.

You can expect a wonderfully varied selection of short films, of which you vote for your favourite on the night. Have your questions asked by programmed filmmakers or our special guests*, all the while enjoying a wide selection of food & drinks from the bar.

Then to round off, we will share our Director's Choice, a slightly longer short, selected by our judging panel.
