For the last 100 years, we've designed organizations around one fundamental assumption:
All intellectual work is performed by humans.
That assumption is no longer true.
AI can now write reports, generate code, analyze contracts, summarize meetings, create presentations, and even contribute to strategic thinking.
So perhaps we're asking the wrong question.
Instead of asking:
"How can we make people more productive?"
We should be asking:
"How do we design organizations where intellectual work is no longer performed exclusively by people?"
This isn't a technology challenge.
It's an organizational design challenge.
Most companies are simply adding AI to existing processes, existing roles, and existing hierarchies.
They're making the old system faster.
But what if the system itself needs to change?

Are we simply adding AI to 20th-century organizations... or is it time to redesign the organization itself
