Description of activity:

The Narragansett Chapter offers this class to be held at the Wood Pawcatuck Watershed Association campus in Hope Valley. Due to the distance, the training will have reasonable start & end times so that those who live further south can comfortably drive up and back in one day.
This format requires only ONE day in-person in addition to online go-at-your-own-pace AMC training you can do in the comfort of your own home! The online trainings should take about 4-6 hours total, but you don’t have to do them all in one sitting- do each segment when you have time. The online components must be completed prior to the in-person training.
The in-person training day utilizes an experiential model where you spend some of the time outdoors to participate in some mock scenarios. Not only is this method a more effective approach to learning – it’s also fun!
During the training, you will have opportunities to network with several current leaders through camaraderie and informative programs. You will instantly feel part of our AMC family. Topics covered are the elements of outdoor leadership common to all AMC outdoor activities:
· Activity planning
· Leading safe and enjoyable activities
· Risk Prevention
· Liability issues
· Accident scene management
· Immersion in role-play scenarios
· AMC leadership requirements and guidelines
· And more!
