Hey everyone, join us for our fourth AWS User Group Cologne in 2025!
The meetup will be held on Thursday, August 28th, 2025, at 6:00 pm / 18:00 CET and is presented and hosted by NTT DATA. Get ready for exciting talks by Mikel Münnekhoff (Cloud & Infrastructure Services @ NTT DATA DACH) and Martin Müller (AWS Solution Architect Professional | Community Builder, UG Leader Lisbon & Castelo Branco AWS Consultant @ Serverless Guru) and of course a friendly get-together!

Mikel Münnekhoff: Mastering EKS Autoscaling Complexity from a Platform Perspective
Mikel will explain in-depth how his team addresses the challenge of autoscaling clusters in a centralized EKS distribution for a diverse set of requirements from different application teams. The talk shows how to give developers the options to choose between on-demand and spot instances, different CPU architectures and even serverless nodes, per workload, as easy as adding a label, on enterprise scale.

Mikel is an AWS and Kubernetes focused technical consultant at NTT DATA. After transitioning from Java development to the DevOps and cloud areas, he builds scalable, flexible and secure platforms and helps migrating and operating diverse applications with those platforms. Mikel's work centers on providing tech, but also knowledge and support to make his projects succeed.

Martin Müller: Building an AI Chat which uses our MCP Server with Bedrock and AWS ECS
In this talk Martin wants to describe how they have designed, developed and used their property listings MCP to provide a seamless AI Chat interface to find and create property listings.

Martin is a technical tinkerer by heart who loves to design and build Serverless solutions in AWS. Along the way he became an AWS UG Leader in Portugal, Community Builder and AWS SAP certified.
