The Hamburg AWS User Group meets every month to discuss and share topics around the AWS Cloud.
We are a group of AWS users with very different experiences and backgrounds but want to learn from each other and welcome everybody from a Cloud Newbie to experienced user.
As this group is based on the principle that content should primarily come from within the group and for the group we are always looking for people who would like to share their stories or provide a location where we can meet. You can use the links below if you would like to submit a talk or location:

Symphony of Things - Exploring AWS IoT Through Music by Anne Stein
This talk started with a wild idea: Could I use my MIDI keyboard to control real-world devices using AWS? What followed was a journey into IoT, latency, edge computing, and music. In this session, I will walk you through my coding adventure, including a live demo where musical notes trigger lights. You will also experience the pain of cloud latency in real time and discover how AWS IoT Core and Greengrass each address different challenges. Whether you come for the idea, the tech, or just the music, you'll leave inspired to create your own Symphony of Things.Bulding a serverless ML platform on AWS by Berit Frech
Serverless makes everything easier… until it doesn’t.
In this talk, I’ll share how we built a machine learning platform to forecast renewable energy production, and where things came apart along the way. From Lambda scaling limits to unexpectedly long Athena queries, we’ll explore the technical challenges and trade-offs that shaped our architecture.
You’ll learn about the design principles, AWS services, and engineering decisions behind the system, and what we discovered by pushing serverless to its limits. Expect practical insights into building real-world ML platforms with EventBridge, Step Functions, Lambda, ECS, ECR, Glue, Athena, DynamoDB, and S3.70 Teilnehmer
