Bend Area Cycling Enthusiasts (BACE)

This is a mostly flat rail trail that starts out easy, but gets rougher the further you go. A gravel bike works fine, but I prefer an MTB for the sections after the 10 mile point
The Route
We will generally follow the out and back Dirty Freehub route - https://dirtyfreehub.org/routes/oregon/drt-biggs - with a turnaround after riding for 1.5h or so. The great thing about this route is you can turn around whenever you want.

We will start from the rail trail parking area near the park entrance.
I will be camping at the nearby Deschutes River State Rec campsite that night, so feel free to join me.
Rules of the Rides
• Approved Cycling Helmets Required.
• Participants must be age 18 or over.
• To participate in a BACE Meetup activity, you must be a member of the BACE Meetup Group and be RSVP’d “Yes” for that specific activity. No “Plus 1’s”
• All participants should be “self-sufficient” with their own food, hydration, tools, spare tubes and first aid supplies necessary for the activity.
• Cycling activities may be significantly impacted by changing conditions (rain, snow, mud, road construction, etc.). Participants should monitor activities for cancellations or changes in location/route.

Ride this trail before the Swale Canyon section closes on Jun 21st !

A gravel bike with wider tires will work, but I prefer a short-travel MTB for this trail (preferably with some kind of lockout for the paved sections)

The Route
Will mostly follow the Dirty Freehub route - https://dirtyfreehub.org/routes/washington/klickitat-trail/ - but in the CCW direction (get most of the climbing out of the way at the beginning)

44 miles, 2400 vf

We will start from the Klickitat trailhead in Lyle, WA. See more detail via the DFH link

I will most likely be camping at the Deschutes River State Rec campsite the night before (at the mouth of the Deschutes), so feel free to join me. Will be riding the DRT from there on Monday
