Über uns
Group founded by the organizers Read Wedding, which is a monthly open mic (obviously, in Wedding) on the last Monday of every month. RW also hosts editing sessions, book markets, workshops and more, curated by Brooks. Our events welcome all languages and themes, but will not tolerate racism, Islamophobia, sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, or any such form of hate.
This group intends to bring together individuals interested in sharing their writing, hearing and supporting others' work, or just to spend a night doing something a bit different, particularly in the neighborhoods of Berlin in which these events happen less often. This is not a group only for Read Wedding. If you're an organizer and interested in posting events here that are happening in neighborhoods like Pankow, Mitte, Wedding or Moabit, we're here for it.

A note from February's host
Inspired by one of the most significant writers of the last century, this place is named after Charles Bukowski’s alter ego, Hank Chinaski. Hank Chinaski was born a little more than a year ago and it is located at Soldinerkiez of Berlin-Wedding, in Koloniestr. 32. Despite the lifestyle of its namesake, we serve breakfast and healthy food (a German-Turkish fusion cuisine). Lots of vegan or vegetarian food and traditional Italian coffee is our signature. It is a no smoking place and opens daily 10:30am. We have a small stage with a baby grand piano and are hosting many talented musicians on at least three evenings in the week. And now we are extremely excited to welcome Read Wedding from February on monthly here at Hank Chinaski. Hope to see you!Experience the magic of live storytelling and poetry with us!
