We start in Lorsch and first visit the UNESCO world heritage monastery and the historic center there. Then we hike through Jägersburg forest and visit the animal park (free) with ibexes and deers. From there we continue to Gernsheim lake with the option to swim. There is a kiosk for those that want to have a cool beverage instead. Finally, we head to the train station.
We meet in Fra Hbf at 10:25 at the beginning of platform 9 for RE 60 departing at 10:34. A Deutschlandticket or RMV annual ticket is recommended, but you can also buy a single day ticket.
The distance is ca. 17 km, flat. Take beverages & food for the way with you. You find the route in the photos section.
