GDG Melbourne is for anyone interested in developing and learning about Android and other exciting Google related technologies. We cover such topics as Kotlin, Java, Flutter, Firebase, Machine Learning, VR & AR, Google Assistant, Wearables and IoT. Regardless of your skill level or experience, it's a fun and open environment, so we'd love to have you come along! Some of the events we hold are:
• Monthly Meetups
Melbourne CBD, on the last Wednesday of each month.
We typically have two lightning (10-15 minute) talks coupled with a longer (20-30 minute) presentation. Each meetup also includes time to talk and network, a summary of new releases and local developer introductions. We often then head to a nearby pub. Catering is provided.
• Coding Nights
Melbourne CBD, on the second last Wednesday of each month.
Coding nights are hosted in a casual environment to allow you to network with like minded developers and work on your own projects. Experts, colleagues and peers are on hand to help you out with problems and to collaborate on projects. Catering is provided.
• Special events
Typically one-off events such as a Google I/O Extended (a recap of the event and announcements), Study Jams (free training sessions), DevFest (one day conference) or social events like Christmas parties.
