Über uns
The Grafana & Friends Berlin meetup group hosts regular events centered on open source monitoring and observability with Grafana and complementary technologies. Some events feature presentations, while some are more laid back and meant to foster group discussion. Either way, there will be snacks and stickers.
We’re always looking for speakers and hosts! Fill out this form and we’ll reach out to you about presenting or hosting. Interested in becoming a Grafana Champion? Speaking at a meetup is a great way to make your application stand out!
We're also often looking for community organizers- the people responsible for coordinating presentations and meetups for the group. Learn more and apply here.
If you have a technical question, check out our support forums. We also have a community slack workspace where you can connect with the Grafana community on a variety of increasingly specific topics.

Agenda:
18:00 - Warming up and networking chat18:15 - Intro by AWS UG Berlin & Grafana & Bonial
18:30 - 19:15 - Vadym Kazulkin // Detect operational Anomalies in Serverless Applications with Amazon DevOps Guru
In this talk we’ll use a serverless application that uses various AWS resources. We'll explore how Amazon DevOps Guru recognizes operational issues and anomalies, such as increased latency and error rates.
We will also explore DevOps Guru "Proactive Insights" which recognizes configurational anti-patterns, such as missing failure destination on Kinesis Data Streams or DLQ on SQS or over-provisioning of AWS services like DynamoDB tables.19:15 - 19:35 - Network break with snacks & drinks
19:35 - 20:20 - Daniel Paulus // Monitoring with events with Grafana and AWS
In the world of observability, metrics and logs are the usual suspects for monitoring system health and diagnosing issues. But what happens when you don't know what to look for in advance? We tackle this challenge by incorporating business-critical events into our observability stack.
Join me for this talk as I delve into how events can fill the gaps left by traditional metrics and logs. I'll share our journey in identifying which events are worth storing and how our technical setup evolved from periodic PostgreSQL pulls to real-time streaming with AWS Firehose. You'll see real-world examples through our Grafana dashboards and learn how this approach allows us to perform ad-hoc analyses spanning over two years without incurring huge costs.20:20 - 20:45 - Closing Announcements & Networking
