This group is to organise hiking daytrips from Geneva with a historical theme. I'm basing these on suggestions found in a local historical publication called Passé Simple. The hikes are meant to be reachable via public transport (Geneva train station) and of easy to medium difficulty (2 to 5 hours).
I'm not a professional guide, just an enthusiast :)

Hike to Grandson Castle

Lets meet Saturday 8th for a hike along the Lake of Neuchatel and a visit to the castle of Grandson and its medieval fair!
This starts in Concise and follows the lakeside for about two hours until we get to Grandson. This historically important castle has been recently renovated and holds that weekend a medieval themed event with markets, shows and traditional crafts. From Grandson back to Yverdon there is about an hour’s walk.

Let’s meet at Concise at 11:15 on Saturday morning of the 8th. I’ll be on the Geneva train leaving at 10:05. With breaks, we should get to Grandson a little before the event starts. It goes on well into the afternoon and evening, so we’ll see how long we want to stay there.
