Über uns

Imagine a place that feels like your living room, your workshop, your kitchen, a bar, and maybe a concert hall. Imagine a community that likes to share, to teach and learn, to collaborate and build new things. Imagine a platform for creativity, fun and awesomeness.

The Munich Maker Lab is a non-profit organization creating an open community workspace where you can learn, teach, share, make, hack, create, enjoy, or simply relax. We foster the do-it-yourself, hacker, and maker culture by providing workspace, tools, and infrastructure to our members and everyone else.

Our members are a diverse group of tech-savvy and non-tech individuals alike. They come to build and explore new things, work on personal projects, improve the lab, make art, learn new skills, or simply hang out – we're also a social club where people gather and connect. No one is paid for their contributions; everything you see is driven entirely by the community. While most people at the lab speak German, we've agreed to use English as our written language and in our formal meetups so that international visitors can join as well.

Everyone is welcome to visit whenever our website shows an open status. Apart from our regular open Thursday, we don't have fixed opening hours – just check before you come.

The Hacking Room Project was started in April 2013 to create a new Hacker-/Makerspace in Munich. After less than a year, in February 2014, we founded the Munich Maker Lab e.V. and moved into our first space, a 25m² room at Werk1 München. A year later, we expanded into new rooms in Obersendling, and since early 2017, we've been in our 220m² industrial space in the Kreativquartier at Dachauerstr. 112h.
Join us and find your hacking room – see you at one of our next meetups!
