The Mini Speech Night is a speaker event designed to encourage the following:

Those who have either never spoken in front of an audience

Those who need more practice speaking in front of an audience to come and speak.

This is for fun. Think of it as IT Project show and tell. No it does not have to be python! All you need is a topic (any topic, it does not have to be tech related) that you are comfortable speaking on for 5-20 minutes. This way you can practice speaking in front of your peers in a low risk environment.

Short "Lightning" presentations of your new coding, raspberry pi, hardware project, 3-D Printer build, server builds, art, blender, 3-D modeling, hardware hacking, lifehacking, etc. project. Show us the code you are working on. Tell us about it for 5-20 minutes! And if you are stuck, ask the group for help!

We can do an online meeting for mini speeches as requested. However, if a presenter does not feel like being recorded for the online portion, we will not stream their section.

Daryl Carson: Driving your ETL Stack with DBT

Presentation: Driving your Extract, Transform, and Load Stack with Data Build Tools

This presentation is intended to introduce a tool that you can use to amplify what you are doing in Python right now. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the limitations of Pandas and SQLite, then this is a good tool for using larger databases and better data access for your analysts and engineers.

Bio:
Daryl Carson is an applications architect with extensive experience with multiple languages and systems. His work spans from small embedded systems up to cloud solutions... and he uses python!

His previous endeavors include being an engineer, managing other engineers, writing Excel automation with VBA, designed lighting controls for stage and theater and he owns one patent on an electronic device. At the pacemaker manufacturer, he wrote and established the design control procedures bring us up to ISO-9000 and meet FDA and European standards for active implantable medical devices
