Alles ansehen- Recursion Schemes & Mill with our special guest Li Haoyiinoio gmbh, Hamburg
Moin Scala enthusiasts,
we are pleased to announce our second Scala meetup in 2025.
= Abstract =
- Markus Klink, inoio: Recursion is the goto of functional programming
This talk starts with this sentence by Erik Meijer to explore the world of recursion schemes and shows, through small examples, how much fun you can have with them. This involves more code than slides and hopefully helps lower the barrier to some intimidating terminology. You might take away something useful for your codebase and get to know a beautiful programming tool. - Li Haoyi, author of Hands on Scala: Improving the Scala Build Tool Experience
Scala's default build system can be surprisingly difficult to use, confusing newcomers and veterans alike. This talk will discuss Mill, an alternative Scala build tool that uses ideas from functional and object-oriented programming to greatly simplify the build tool experience. We will explore some of the common challenges that SBT imposes on its users and show how Mill lets users achieve the same goals but in a much easier and more straightforward fashion.
= Schedule =
- 18:00 - 18:30 Get-together with drinks & snacks
- 18:30 - 20:15 Talks with Q&A
- 20:15: Get-together with more drinks
