Moin Scala enthusiasts,
we are about to have our first Scala meetup in 2024. This time there's three talks, targeting beginners as well as advanced Scala developers.
= Abstract =
- Yadu Krishnan of Risk Ident: Simplifying Scala for beginners using Scala-CLI
Beginners will be introduced how to dive into the exciting world of Scala development effortlessly with Scala-CLI. - Lukasz Bialy of Virtus Lab: Hands-on Besom: Full-stack Scala in practice
Introduction to the future of infrastructure management using Besom - a Pulumi SDK for Scala. After a brief explanation of the fundamentals of Besom's programming model, we will leave the shallows and jump straight into a live coding session during which we will deploy a full-blown AI product written in Scala to the cloud. - Navid Jalali of MOIA: What Makes Algebraic Data Types "Algebraic"
Why do languages like Scala and Rust claim that you can make "algebraic" data types and what kind of algebra can you do with those types?
