Über uns
The London Umbraco Meetup Group is open to anyone interested in the open source .NET CMS Umbraco, whether experienced or newcomer. Our aim is to create a welcoming space for anyone to learn, share knowledge, network and feel part of Umbraco's friendly community.
We aim to meet monthly in a variety of settings with talks about latest Umbraco topics, .NET development and any core skills that are of general interest to anyone who works with technology. Case studies and demos are welcomed. Please get in touch if you want to share something at one of our events.
Community is important to us
We are open to all and sundry who have an interest in Umbraco and/or CMS in general, so you are welcome to come along and meet the lovely people making Umbraco community what it is! We promise you a friendly welcome. If you're new people introduce yourself to one of the designated hosts for the evening.
Where and when do we we meet?
We mostly meet on the 2nd Thursday or each month, but this changes from time-to-time. Our location tends to rotate around London (we're always looking for new and interesting venues for meetups) but we can often be found around Old Street. Typically 15-20 people come along to our social meetups, many more when talks are scheduled. We aim to grow and try different things, including a summer BBQs and the Infamous Umbraco London Christmas Pub Quiz...
Who do I talk to?
If you are interested in giving a talk or hosting at one of our meet-ups, please get in touch with Ravi, Lotte, or Callum via the Meetup.com group.

#1 Introduction and Welcome!
by Lotte Pitcher#2 Codegarden 2025 Recap
by Emiliano Bottaioli and Rob Shaw, SampsonMayEmiliano and Rob will be sharing their experience and highlights from Codegarden, the annual Umbraco Developer conference that just took place in Odense, Denmark. So if you weren't at Codegarden you can learn what you missed; and if you were there you can enjoy the memories (or still perhaps discover things you missed!)
#3 Revamping the Media Section (Making the Dream a Reality)
by Steve Temple, Technical Director at GibeSteve has a dream... A dream where the Umbraco media section works much more effectively and is far more friendly for editors. He's sat in a previous Codegarden talk where Jeffrey Shoemaker shared some of his dreams for Umbraco and his dream on media was very similar to Steve's. So you may say Steve's a dreamer, but he's not the only one!
In fact this will be the third talk on this, but all the solutions he's demonstrated before have been hacks, or trying to get AI to solve the problem. Since the advent of Umbraco 14 and the new backoffice he thinks the dream can now become reality.
He'll show how you can build a module that will replace the media section and media pickers with custom versions which support new ways of interacting with media. Then he'll show how you can then build on that to bolt in 3rd party media management products, or use AI to categorise media or identify duplicates. Modules like this could entirely change the backoffice experience for your editors.
