Join us for a trail run/jog/walk! Note this is Easter Monday, a public holiday in Denmark and therefore we start already at 14:30h We encourage you to wear Easter / Springtime costumes. Feel free to join the silly pack. Only for this special occation there will also be Easter activities. We are not a typical running club, so please read about the concept in “about us”. How it works: we don’t know in advance where the trail will go, but we know it will be fun! A member of the club, the 'hare', sets a trail, usually marked with flour. The rest of us, the 'pack', follows the hare's 'scent', i.e., the marks. There will be a 8-10 km trail for runners with shortcuts down to 5-6 km for walkers and those who need a slower pace. We have no set pace - run/walk as slow or as fast as you'd like. After the run we enjoy some refreshments and socialize. Come a few minutes before the start so that you can say hi and leave your bag in a designated bag car before we set off at 14:30. Don’t worry if there are few registrations on Meetup. We have existed for 44 years, and a lot of our members (anywhere from 20 to 50 people) just show up. Four-legged friends are welcome! We never cancel. See you there!

Let's go on a beautiful, easy day hike along one of the most dramatic and historically fascinating coastlines in all of Denmark, Stevns Klint. No big elevation, no rush, just white chalk cliffs, 65-million-year-old fossils, a medieval church teetering on the edge of a cliff, and the Baltic Sea stretching out in front of us the whole way. It's the kind of walk where you stop every ten minutes just to stare... Meeting point: Store Heddinge Station at 10:30. From there, we’ll walk to Stevns Klint (about 5 km), explore the area, and return via the same route , around 10 km total. Easy peasy... Seniors with 60+ years of life experience who are community leaders, intellectuals, artists, storytellers, and want to share their experience over dinners for a small group each time. Every Wednesday there is dinner hosted by a different Silver (senior host) who will open their front door, welcome a group of 5-8 curious people into their home (all ages), and share their stories, knowledge, and connections across the table over a themed evening. Each host chooses their own theme and it is the aim to pass on their hard-earned knowledge. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- This week the host is: Karen! Karen Blincoe PhD, has spent over 30 years working at the highest level of sustainability, education and design. She has pioneered sustainability initiatives such as founding the ICIS Center, and co-founder of Chora 2030 in Denmark, and has been Director of Schumacher College in Devon UK. She published her book: **Achieving Sustainability: The Ultimate Human Challenge in 2022**, and helped shape national agendas. But what stands out is her presence: Clear, generous and brave as ever. Looking back on her life, she says: “Everything I was exposed to in childhood - the stories, the nature, the learning environment - became a foundation for a life of education, culture and sustainability.“ But that life did not unfold in a straight line. Karen always followed her intuition, and that led her to places she could never have planned. An evening of good food, sharp insight, and honest conversation, and new people!

Ever wondered *why Denmark works the way it does*? You may already live here — but understanding Denmark is something else entirely. On this **2-hour pop-up walking tour**, we go beyond the usual history and sights to explore the ideas, values, and systems that shape Danish society today. This is not a traditional sightseeing tour — it’s a conversation about how Denmark actually functions. We’ll walk through central Copenhagen and use the city as our classroom. Along the way, we’ll talk about topics like: * Why Danes trust each other (and their government) * How the welfare state really works * Why people are willing to pay high taxes * The role of monarchy in a modern democracy * Danish culture, social norms, and everyday life * And yes — what’s going on with Greenland, and our relationship to the United States This tour is designed for **curious, thoughtful people** who want to understand the country they are living in — not just observe it. After the tour you are welcome to join for an informal dinner with the other participants and the guide. The price of the tour is 125 DKK which can be paid on the tour in cash or MobilePay. Your guide is Jens Frahm-Rasmussen who, before becoming a guide, worked 10 years in Human resources in the City hall of Copenhagen, the Ministry of Integration, and Copenhagen University.

Join us for a two mile trail hike alongside the Brookside Trail at Blendon Woods Metro Park. This trail is largely gravel and does include some hills and stairs. Hopefully we will see some wildlife while hike this scenic trail! Join us!

Over time I'm hoping to organize a hike to all the Franklin County Metro Parks. This is the first one so if you're interested jump in! We'll start with the Canopy Walk, a cool feature of this park. Climb 100 stairs to the top - or take the elevator if stairs aren't your thing. At the top there are a bunch of things to play on - a rope bridge, a fireman pole that we can slide down - and more! About fifteen minutes there and we'll head to the natural trail, Buttonbush, Maple and Beech Trail for 2.2 miles then do a 1.7 mile loop on the paved Greenway Trail. We'll be passing our cars as we transition if you only want to do the first loop, or the second loop. Pace of around 3.5 mph but no one left behind. If there is an interest we can grab lunch nearby afterward.
