**Headliner Desiree Burch** is an American comedian, writer, actor, and theatre-maker who relocated from New York to London and promptly took the UK comedy scene apart. Bold, unapologetic, and wickedly sharp, she tackles race, sex, identity, and the glorious indignities of getting older with the kind of fearless honesty that leaves audiences breathless.
A Yale-trained theatre artist, Desiree spent years as a founding member of the New York Neo-Futurists, writing, directing and performing original work before her critically acclaimed solo shows — including *52 Man Pickup*, *Tar Baby* (winner of a Fringe First Award at Edinburgh 2015), and *Unf\*ckable* — brought her to international attention.
She exploded onto the UK comedy scene by winning the Funny Women Award in 2015 and hasn't slowed down since. TV credits include *Live at the Apollo* (BBC, which she also hosted), *Taskmaster* (Series 12), *Have I Got News for You*, *QI*, *8 Out of 10 Cats*, *Mock the Week*, *Frankie Boyle's New World Order*, *The Mash Report*, *Never Mind the Buzzcocks*, *Just a Minute*, and co-hosting Netflix's *Flinch*. She recorded her debut Edinburgh show *This Is Evolution* as a BBC3 special, and has a second stand-up special for Comedy Central.
You may also know her voice without knowing her face — she's the wisecracking narrator behind Netflix's global reality smash *Too Hot to Handle*, a role that has introduced her sardonic wit to millions of viewers worldwide.
Funny, frank, and ferociously entertaining — Desiree Burch is one of the most exciting voices in comedy today.
*"The funniest comedian I have ever seen in person. She left me breathless with laughter."* — Scotsgay
*"Positively poetic."* — The Scotsman
**Support Act: Jacob Stewart** is a Welsh-South African comedian who grew up in Amsterdam — which, as he'll tell you himself, somehow resulted in an accent that sounds vaguely American. Nobody knows why.
With roots stretching from Cardiff to Cape Town and a childhood spent navigating Amsterdam's canals, Jacob brings a uniquely mongrel perspective to the stage. A relative newcomer in the Amsterdam comedy scene, Jacob has wasted no time making his mark — most recently winning the Monday Night Laughs Gong Show.
**Support act: Sadaf Nazimi** is an Afghan-Dutch comedian on the rise. Sadaf captivates audiences with her charming storytelling, weaving tales of her Afghan upbringing in the Netherlands, student adventures, and au pair experiences in the US. Her fresh perspective and humor leave audiences delighted and inspired.
Meet your host:
MC **Kendra** was born into a Reagan-era hunter-gatherer society in Alaska, and started playing saxophone at age 8 inspired by the musical stylings of Lisa Simpson. After surviving the treacherous journey down the infamous Alaskan-Canadian hi-way she studied Music at the University of Oregon finally leaving the US in 2004 in search of a better life (and an affordable Master’s degree). She bought a one-way ticket to Amsterdam, never looked back and has been entertaining folks in Amsterdam ever since.
