First Seeker Sarmak has called on the scientist Dr. Heldin Sevaille to create an inoculation for a process known as “conversion” which is transforming wildlife and residents of the Sloughscar Hills into monsters in the service of the Wreck of the Returned. The final ingredient Dr. Sevaille requires is found in a remote forest called Ste Xinnith on Marata, one of Bretheda’s moons. Dr. Sevaille dispatches a team of Starfinders to collect samples of this rare plant with the aid of a few local scientists. But trouble is brewing in Ste Xinnith… Frozen Trove, a Triaxian biotech corporation notorious for unethical and illegal methods that damage environments to maximize profits, has established a laboratory in the area, leaving a trail of destruction in their wake. With the entire ecosystem at risk, it’s time for the Starfinders to take a stand.

Vegan-Powered Activity Liability Waiver
I represent that I am in good physical health and capable of participating in the physical group activity I have chosen to attend. I understand that during my participation in a Vegan-Powered (VP) Activity (“Event”), I may be exposed to a variety of hazards and risks, foreseen or unforeseen, which are inherent in each Event and cannot be eliminated without destroying the unique character of the Event. These inherent risks include, but are not limited to, the dangers of serious personal injury, property damage, and death (“Injuries and Damages”) from exposure to the hazards of travel and VP has not tried to contradict or minimize my understanding of these risks. I know that Injuries and Damages can occur by natural causes, or activities of other persons, animals, plants, Organizers, Co-Organizers, Event Hosts, Members and assistants or third parties, either as a result of negligence or because of other reasons. I acknowledge that the enjoyment and excitement of Event is derived in part from the inherent risks in Event and these risks contribute to the enjoyment and are a reason for my participation. I understand that risks of such Injuries and Damages are involved in physical activities and other adventure travel such as VP Events and I appreciate that I may have to exercise extra care for my own person and for others around me in the face of such hazards. I further understand that at this Event there may not be rescue or medical facilities, first aid, or the expertise necessary to deal with the Injuries and Damages to which I may be exposed.
In consideration for my acceptance as a participant on these Events, and the services and amenities to be provided by VP in connection with these Events, I confirm my understanding that:
I have read any rules and conditions applicable to the Event made available to me; I will pay any costs and fees for the Event; and I acknowledge my participation is at the discretion of the VP.
The Event does not include carpooling, transportation, or transit to and from the Event, and I am personally responsible for all risks associated with this travel.
If I decide to leave early and not to complete the Event as planned, I assume all risks inherent in my decision to leave and waive all liability against VP arising from that decision. Likewise, if a leader has concluded the Event, and I decide to go forward without the leader, I assume all risks inherent in my decision to go forward and waive all liability against VP arising from that decision.
I understand that VP reserves the right to exclude from the activity any person they judge to be incapable of meeting the rigors of participating in the activities or who refuses or is unwilling to follow the directives of the activity leaders.
This Agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as is permitted by law. If any provision or any part of any provision of this Agreement is held to be invalid or legally unenforceable for any reason, the remainder of this Agreement shall not be affected thereby and shall remain valid and fully enforceable.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, I agree to WAIVE, DISCHARGE CLAIMS, AND RELEASE FROM LIABILITY VP, their agents, assistants, organizers, other groups and other leaders from any and all liability on account of, or in any way resulting from Injuries and Damages, even if caused by negligence of VP its agents, assistants, organizers, other groups and other leaders, in any way connected with this Event. I further agree to HOLD HARMLESS VP, its agents, assistants, organizers, other groups and other leaders from any claims, damages, injuries or losses caused by my own negligence while a participant in the Event. I understand and intend that this assumption of risk and release is binding upon my heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, and includes any minors accompanying me on the Event.

Walk to Run (build your movement routine)
Having a running routine that you actually enjoy and stick with takes more than a new year’s resolution and a new pair of shoes.
You’ve got to build your body up to handle it without misery or injury, figure out how to fit it into your busy schedule, and learn how to motivate and discipline yourself so you actually stick with it.
*So let’s walk before we run!*
Join your fellow explorers on Saturday for a walk and talk. (talking optional!)
It’s a time to connect and share tips with each other related to starting a walking/running routine, getting motivated, finding exercise partners, or whatever else is on your mind.
We’ll plan to walk for about an hour around the lake on a flat gravel trail.
**SAFETY NOTES**
1. Walking, just like running or any physical activity, may result in injury. Please dress for the weather, prepare your body properly, and consult your doctor prior to participation.
2. If you’ve never met anyone else attending, please bring a friend or take whatever steps you need to feel safe at this, or any, Meetup event.
***This is a free, community based event. You assume all risk associated with this activity.***

Sunday Skate - Out & Back to Takoma Park on the MBT!
🛼 Sunday Social: The "Grand Branch" Trek
Get ready for an epic 15.7-mile out-and-back journey from the heart of DC to the northern edge of the District. We are so fortunate to have the incredible Talida leading the pack for this high-energy trek!
This is a special one—we’ll be rolling through the freshly opened MBT extension from Fort Totten to Takoma, completing the full trail connection.
📍 Meetup & Rollout
• Location: Freedom Plaza (1301 Pennsylvania Ave NW)
• Meetup: 11:00 AM
• Wheels Up: 11:10 AM Sharp! 🚀
🗺️ The Route
Under Talida’s expert guidance, we’ll move from Freedom Plaza toward the Metropolitan Branch Trail (MBT). We are skating the full length of the trail all the way into Takoma.
⚡ The Vibe: Flow & Flex
• The Pace: We’re keeping a steady, intermediate-friendly flow.
• The Turnaround: Once we reach the Takoma terminus, Talida will call the play—we may stay for a quick break to soak in the vibes, or we might keep the wheels spinning and head straight back to the Plaza.
• The "Red Line" Backup: If you need to tap out early, the route mirrors the Metro Red Line. You can easily hop on at Takoma, Fort Totten, or Brookland.
