London Bridge station. Meet upstairs (top floor - so go up the escalators) between WHSmith (no 15) and M&S (no 16) - [MAP](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/StationPhotos/LondonBridge.jpg) • Time: Meet 8:00am, leave 8:10am for the 8:21am train • Return: 7:34pm arrival back in London (you’re committed until then) 🌟 **Highlights** • Hike high along the **South Downs ridges** with spectacular far-reaching views • Follow part of the **South Downs Way**, Britain’s first bridleway National Trail • Admire dramatic **glacial “dry valleys”** carved during the last Ice Age • Enjoy distant views of the **Seven Sisters cliffs** without hiking them • Cross the **River Ouse valley** before climbing deep into the Downs • Finish on the **beach at Seaford**, with coastal history including its 1810 Martello Tower • A serious physical challenge – ideal for fit, experienced hikers who find the Seven Sisters easy 🥾 **Hike Description** Our adventure begins in **Lewes**, a historic Sussex market town dating back to the 6th century and famed for its castle and bonfire traditions. Leaving town, we cross the **River Ouse** and its broad valley before climbing into the heart of the **South Downs National Park**, Britain’s newest National Park. For much of the day we hike high up on the **chalk ridges and rolling hills** of the Downs, rewarded with panoramic views that stretch inland and out to the English Channel. We pass through **glacial dry valleys** and across open downs, with long stretches where the sea draws ever nearer. Approaching the coast, our path reveals **distant vistas of the legendary Seven Sisters cliffs**, gleaming white in the sunlight. The hike concludes in **Seaford**, a small coastal town steeped in history. Here we find the **Martello Tower**, built in 1810 as part of a chain of 103 towers to guard against French invasion during the Napoleonic Wars. Finishing right by the beach, this is a spectacular end to one of our toughest South Downs challenges. **Toughness:** At **30km with multiple steep climbs** and a brisk pace, this is one of our longest day hikes from London. It is only suitable for experienced and very fit hikers. There is little if any time for a pub stop at the end, and if you are unable to keep up or complete the hike, you will need to leave and arrange a taxi at your own expense. 🧭 **Guide:** • Leader: [GRAHAM](https://www.outdooraholics.co.uk/MeetTheOutdooraholics.pdf) • Contact (hike day only): 07796 098487 🍽️ **Food:** • Bring a packed lunch and hike snacks, it's a long hike • Pub visit after the hike (drinks optional) 🎒**What to Bring** • Hiking boots/shoes • Water (2 litres minimum) • Packed lunch • Waterproofs (jacket and trousers) • Hat and gloves if cold • Train tickets are arranged – just meet us at the meeting point ⚠️ **Safety** Your guide is a trained hike leader and Outdoor Activity First Aider ❓ **Want to Know More?** • [New to Our Trips?](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/new_to_our_day_hikes.pdf) (perfect for first-timers, answers “what to expect”) • [About Us](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/about_us.pdf) (who Outdooraholics are, credibility, history) • [FAQs](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/FAQ.pdf) (covers common queries) 📲 **Explore More &** **Stay Connected** [Day hikes list](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/hikesbygrade.pdf) 👣 [Calendar - All trips](https://www.meetup.com/outdooraholics/events/calendar/) 📖 [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/outdooraholics/) 📸 [Facebook page](https://www.facebook.com/Outdooraholics) & [Photos group](https://www.facebook.com/groups/Outdooraholics) 📄 **Terms and Conditions** By signing up or attending you agree to our [Terms and Conditions](https://outdooraholics.co.uk/TermsConditionsOutdooraholicsHikingUK.pdf) © Outdooraholics Hiking UK Ltd 2026 E & OE by

Journey to the End of the Night (urban chase game)
Journey to the End of the Night (urban chase game)
**SocialSportsMix have teamed up with London Journey for this creative urban game!** **NOTE: You must pre-register** **at [https://londonjourney.org/](https://londonjourney.org/) to actually play!** FYI, there are **141 players** registered to play on the main site!! (correct as of: 16/04/26) Journey is a free volunteer-run interactive urban chase game in which hundreds of players traverse the city, completing challenges at checkpoints, guided by checkpoint agents from fairytales, while evading chasers. Get caught and become a chaser yourself, or make it to the end of the night without getting caught to win! # ✨ Welcome to Fairy Academy ✨ Tonight, your magic awakens. You have been chosen as a Fairy Trainee — a spark-bearer, glowing with wild, untamed fairy dust. You’ve felt it already: the air crackling when you run, laughter spilling out around you, the shimmer just under your skin. But listen carefully. You are not a fairy yet... Raw fairy dust is volatile. It flares bright… and then it burns out. To claim your wings, you must survive the Five Trials of Fairy Academy. Each test will sharpen your magic. Each checkpoint will push you closer to transformation. Pass all five, and you will rise crowned with your Fairy Title, your power steady and eternal. But the night is not empty. Lurking in the dark are the Dropouts — former trainees who lost their light. They no longer create magic of their own. Now they hunt it. If they catch you, they will siphon your fairy dust to feed their fading glow. Lose your spark… and you join them. Run bright. Guard your glow. Graduate, or be consumed! **————————————————————————** **\- WHERE/WHEN** The course, which begins at Jubilee Gardens will be approximately 9km and may take 2 to 4 hours to complete (accounting for interference). Check-in will be from 4:00-4:30pm and the game will begin at 5pm. Do your best to be on time. **\- How do I play?** Register here: https://londonjourney.org Full rules of gameplay will be presented there. **\- Where has it been played?** The game has been played in cities all over the world (see [https://ichaseyou.com](https://ichaseyou.com/)), including in London in 2007-2009 and 2024-25. Join us for 2026! **\- Why is the game free\, is there a catch?** We organise Journey to the End of the Night because we are passionate about helping Londoners to get out of their comfort zones, explore the city, get creative and immerse themselves in imagination. We love doing it and spend several months preparing the game. It is important to us to be able to keep it free to players so that it is accessible to anyone. That said, we do incur costs for the game materials, maps, ribbons, etc (typically a few hundred pounds) so if you're able to support us with a [donation](https://buymeacoffee.com/londonjourney) of £5 it really helps! [https://buymeacoffee.com/londonjourney](https://buymeacoffee.com/londonjourney) **\- Are there ways I can get involved before the event?** If you're interested in being a part of the creative volunteer community organising Journey, please visit [LondonJourney.org](http://londonjourney.org) and fill out our volunteer interest form or email LondonJourney24@gmail.com and we'll get in touch! **-What should I wear?** Comfy clothes/shoes for running Theme (time travel) related costume - optional **-What should I bring?** Water A charged smartphone or good sense of direction

BPRD Game 1 and 2 - Carthage Carnage Park.
BPRD Game 1 and 2 - Carthage Carnage Park.
Join us for Games 1 and 2 of our ongoing LARP series set in a BPRD‑inspired Hellboy universe. If you’ve ever wanted to try Live Action Role Playing, this is an ideal moment to jump in. Agents have disappeared while investigating reports that one of the UK’s eeriest historical theme parks may be genuinely haunted. A second team of enhanced operatives has now been dispatched to uncover the truth. Players will take on the role of BPRD agents sent to Carthage. If you plan to attend, please let us know — we tailor character backgrounds for everyone, and early notice helps us prepare something fun and personal for you. We’re a friendly hobby group that always welcomes new players. You can find more information about who we are and what we do on our website: [Furthest Frontiers - About - FURTHEST FRONTIERS](https://lotna-larp.co.uk/about.html) If you RSVP, we’ll get in touch to guide you through character creation and explain what to expect on the day. The site is accessible by car, and we can also arrange pickups from Longfield Station. A group meets at 8:45 at Victoria Mainline Station to catch a train together. The cost for a one‑day game is **£20**, which helps us cover venue and equipment expenses.

Heather's Lesnes Abbey & Crossness Pumping Station walk, moderate, linear
This is a 6.5 mile walk along the Green Chain walk and the Thames. We will visit Lesnes Abbey (cafe, toilets, ruins) and end at Crossness Pumping Station (cafe, toilets, building visit). The final additional 2 miles back to Abbey Wood station can be walked or take the Routemaster bus from Crossness. If you don’t want to visit Crossness, you will have to make your own way (unguided) back to Abbey Wood station. It is highly recommend pre-booking tickets or buying membership in advance. This will jump the queue and guarantee entry. Entry for the afternoon of the open day is £20\.37 \(without Gift Aid\) payable on the day \(if available\) or bookable in advance through this link https://crossness\.visihost\.co\.uk/\#eventcalendar_1\|778 If it says Tickets Unavailable, and you don't want to buy a 1 year membership, please email me at heather.staffurth@gmail.com and I will send your name to Crossness and they will hold a ticket on the door for you to pay on arrival. However, you could instead become a member. Benefits of membership are on the link below. £20pa age up to 64, £15pa age 65+. You can make you own way home independently at any time. Please note that **there is a £2 payment required for non-Ramblers members** to help cover our Meetup costs. **Please help the walk leader by bringing the exact change.** Members of the Ramblers Association are welcome on any of our walks, but we would still encourage you to RSVP on Meetup. This will give our volunteer walk leaders an idea of how many are attending, and also to keep the numbers manageable. If, on the day of the walk, you are still on the waiting list and a Ramblers member, you can attend just let the walk leader know you are coming by adding a comment 'Coming as a Rambler'. You will find the start location via our website Our Walks ([westkentwalkinggroup.org.uk](http://westkentwalkinggroup.org.uk/)).
