Borders Our host, Jenn, is looking for stories about borders. A physical barricade. A social stigma. A self-imposed ideal. What borders have you had to cross? We’re looking for true, first-person stories about getting past whatever’s in your way, or at least trying your darndest to. The *Borders* live storytelling show is on Thursday, 30th April. If you’ve got a story or just an idea in mind, come to one of our pitch workshops at the beginning of April. If your story is shortlisted for the show, our host will work with you as you polish and rehearse it. 📌 Story Requirements: * Your story must be true * It must be told in the first person—you are the main character * It should be between 5-10 minutes You don't need to have a completed or polished story ready - just a beginning idea is okay. This workshop is open to individuals at all levels, first-timers or old hands. The purpose of Hong Kong Stories is to help you become a better storyteller. Then... we play to find out what happens. The game is a conversation: I say something, then you reply, maybe someone else chimes in. We talk about what's happening to the characters we imagine and the world around them. We also talk about the rules, which help us decide what happens next if the next step is in doubt. The rules differ from game to game: some use dice to shape the story, others use cards or something else. It's always a conversation, though.
