*Persuasion* is a novel by Jane Austen, published in 1817. This is the story of Anne Elliot, who, years earlier, was persuaded to break off her engagement to the man she loved, Captain Frederick Wentworth, because he was considered an unsuitable match. Eight years later, they meet again. Wentworth is now wealthy and successful, while Anne remains single and quietly regrets her past decision. The novel follows their renewed acquaintance and the lingering emotions between them. Through this story, Jane Austen explores themes such as regret, second chances, social pressure. The discussion will be based on the book.

Friday evening sketching session at Villa Vauban. Every friday Villa Vauban is free between 6-9pm. To benefit from this we willl have a monthly sketch & sip session (in that order :)) using a specific room/painting in the museum. Agenda: 6pm (early arrivals) - meeting at the reception and move to a room by 6:10 7pm - for those of us that cannot leave work earlier, I will post where to find us in whatsapp. Sketching until 8 8pm - share our sketches 8-9pm sip your favorite wine, beer etc in a bar/restaurant in the city centre. Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 7:00pm on Wednesday, April 22 at Streetlight Guild. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. **SCHEDULE:** 6:45ish - Quick introductions 7:00 - Timer starts: write for 1 hour 8:00 - The End **OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING** happens before and after the writing hour. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. **BEING LATE IS OKAY:** just show up and get settled! Columbus Code & Coffee is an inclusive, informal co-working session. People of all skill levels attend, and we love it that way.
