¿Qué hacemos? A las 20:00h tenemos una meditación budista guiada. La meditación tiene una duración de unos 25 minutos y es accesible y beneficiosa para personas de todos los niveles de experiencia. ¿Qué es el Camino del Diamante? El Buda dio instrucciones a tres clases de personas. Las primeras que deseaban evitar el sufrimiento recibieron las enseñanzas sobre Causa y Efecto, llamadas Camino Angosto (Hinayana). El segundo tipo de personas sentía la necesidad de beneficiar a los demás, por lo que les dio enseñanzas sobre compasión y sabiduría, llamadas Gran Camino (Mahayana). Finalmente a las personas que tenían una confianza sólida en su propio potencial y en de los demás, el Buda explicó enseñanzas del Camino del Diamante (Vajrayana). En este último nivel utilizamos métodos de identificación con la meta y actuamos como un Buda hasta que llegamos a ser como él. En el nivel más elevado, la meta, es el completo desarrollo de la mente, a lo cual denominó el Gran Sello (Mahamudra). ¿Quiénes somos? El Centro Budista Camino del Diamante de Barcelona forma parte de los más de 700 centros de meditación a nivel internacional de la tradición Karma Kagyu del Budismo Tibetano. Estos centros han sido fundados y guiados por Lama Ole Nydahl y su esposa Hannah Nydahl, de acuerdo con los deseos de H. H. XVI Karmapa. Ahora están bajo la guía espiritual de H.H. WQC has weekly Thursday night social nights at the Westerville Java Central. Come and grab a coffee and connect with the community: low stakes, chill environment, and tasty drinks. No registration is required; come as you are.

The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome. We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches. These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome.
