Every Thursday at 7pm-8pm we offer free online peer support sessions. These are an opportunity to meet with other people who have left high control religious groups and share your experiences and make friends. This is not professional therapy, but these sessions are run by trained facilitators on Zoom. The Political Committee will consider a number of projects: 1. Assisting in Worker's Centers, such as the Philadelphia Unemployment Project. 2. Involvement in the Philadelphia American Federation of Labour-Congress of Industrial Organizations newly established Civil Rights Committee. 3. Providing information on unemployment organizations. 4. Involvement in direct actions such as unionized Black Lives Matter and Unemployment Benefit demonstrations of UNITE HERE at thwChamber Comerace and the African American History Museum.. 5. Members of the Philadelphia Chapter NWU attended demonstrations demanding a continuation of unemployment benefits. 6. The Philadelphia NWU Chapter is assisting in pressuring the U.S. Senate to continue unemployment benefits as previous. Sign petitions for the HEROES Act. Numerious publications are now out of business with the Covid-19 Crisis ongoing. We have begun television broadcasts with our members training to support greater NWU unionization. We have an agreement with PhillyCAM to have our Philadelphia NWU members join PhillyCAM under group memberships and not pay individual PhillyCAM membership fees.
