**Welcome to Sketchy Collective!** A relaxed and social drawing group for anyone who enjoys sketching — or just wants to give it a try. \*\*\* We meet **every Sunday at 15:00** in **Oodi Library**. \*\*\* **HOW TO FIND US** We meet on the **top floor of Oodi Library**, on the stairs **opposite** the children’s area. It's a good idea to **keep your sketchbook visible** so others can easily recognize that you're there for the sketching meetup. And if you’re a regular participant, making it clear that you're part of the sketching group can be very helpful for newcomers! \*\*\* **HOW IT WORKS** At each meetup, attendees take turns being the model for a quick **10-minute sketch session**. One person poses, everyone else sketches, then we rotate. \*\*\* **WHAT TO BRING** Pencils and paper (or any sketching tools you like). No fees, no pressure. The only thing we ask is that everyone takes a turn posing for the group. You can sit however you feel comfortable — the 10 minutes go by quickly! Draw as much as you like, skip a round if you’re tired or just want to chat, and leave whenever it suits you. Each song has an instrumental section, and we encourage people to improvise, harmonise or just to play it as they feel it. We put the words and chords on the TV screens and we start playing together. **17:30 to 18:00 - Food Break** Grab something from the menu, chat to your fellow players, meet new people. Look through the song book. Start playing random stuff. **18:00 to 20:00 - Jam Session Part 2** We will play some more advanced songs. The last part of the session is requests from the jam group. Come and join us for a play-a-long jam. We will be based in the cellar bar at Iguana on Mannerheimintie. We keep it simple ... we put the words and chords on laptop. Please bring a tablet if you have one so you can also access the songbook at ukejam.online ... or you can use one of our TV screens we will have dotted around the place. We will have a limited number of spare ukuleles and guitars. If you don't play anything, you are welcome to come and just hangout, sing if you want to. Picture the Grand Ball scenes like you’ve seen in period films such as “Pride and Prejudice”, where the dancers are lined up in long lines, across from each other. That’s English Country Dancing, the predecessor of contra dancing. Now, add moves like “swing your partner” and “do-si-do,” like you’ve seen in square dancing. Set it to fabulous, high energy, live music with fiddles, guitars, percussion and more, alá “Riverdance.” Finally, set the whole scene down in the middle of Woodstock, with a hip, groovy atmosphere, a bit of tie-dye, and hints of counter-culture attitude.
