If you are new to Toastmasters, we make each session interesting by following a structured schedule with numerous roles for each member, including a new theme, a word of the day, and a fun portion called Table Topics that everyone is welcome to participate in. St. Vladimir Toastmasters is the BEST place to practice your communication skills in a stimulating and supportive environment. Our group rocks! **All good things must come to an end! (**At least temporarily.) I started this Meetup community to pass on what the community gave me - some awesome people in life and experience the thrill of hosting some unique events. I am pretty fulfilled by how its turned out to be and what I have been able to accomplish so far. However, its time for me to venture on another adventure (to be revealed at the event) and for me to take a leave from hosting. But the show must go on, and so will this group. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be.
