**Come try quadball - a mixed-gender sport open to anyone and everyone regardless of gender, ability, or background.** Quadball, formerly quidditch, features players on each side aiming to outscore their opponents by throwing a volleyball through one of three opposing hoops, whilst defending their own hoops with tackles or knocking out opponents with dodgeballs - all while on a broom. **[Short Video on How To Play Quadball](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tKUZ9LLH-_c)** These sessions are casual mixed games, and are very beginner friendly, so this is a fantastic opportunity for new people to get involved! The Wytchery is an inclusive and welcoming space for solitary witches with little or no experience working with a group. We believe that magic is for everyone, and we strive to create a safe and supportive environment where you can feel free to be yourself. Our workshops are perfect for those who are new to the craft or haven't had much experience working in a group. You're free to drop in and out as you please, and you'll get hands-on experience with all sorts of magical goodies, from raising power and working spells to creating talismans and magical tools. We're all about getting involved, whether that's through movement, crafting, or meditation. You'll meet new people, learn new skills, and have the chance to contribute to our little community. We're not in this to make a profit – we just want to create a lovely, social space for like-minded witches to come together and learn from each other. Join OverBoard to play the brilliant social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in person at the brand new board game cafe Otter Chaos in Brixton. If you haven’t heard of Blood on the Clocktower before it is an evolution of classic party games like Mafia/Werewolf where a hidden evil team takes on the good team by lying and killing. The good team has a few tricks up their sleeve but will have to work together to deduce who the evil doers are in their midst. **This is a beginner friendly event so no experience with the game is necessary.** Please note that a gaming cover charge of \~£5 will be payable by each attendee to the venue so that we can make use of the space. We also encourage you to buy food and drink from the bar so we are supporting the business (I can highly recommend their pizzas!) Our sessions are for players who can compete at intermediate to advanced level. We provide hybrid feather shuttles and games are organised to maximise competition and allow players to rotate partners. We have access to 4 courts and attendees must wear the appropriate footwear and clothing. The clocks are finally going back and hopefully Spring will finally have sprung in time for our next walk - a corker of a 13-mile (21km) stride along the 1066 Country Walk from Battle to Rye. The number 1066 of course signifying what still remains the most significant thing to have in this part of the world in the ensuing milennium: the invasion of William, Duke of Normandy, and his defeat of the Anglo-Saxon king Harald at the Battle of Hastings. Which happened not at Hastings, but at Battle, conveniently enough. This walk will lead us the other way from Battle station, eastwards through marvellously bucolic territory of woods, pasture and small valleys and as we head for the Brede Levels and the tiny, mysterious planned mediaeval town of Winchelsea as we head for our finishing point at the chocolate-box ex-port of Rye. One innovation since Norman times: pubs. There are some lovely ones on the way, one of which we'll stop at for lunch and we'll aim for at least another in the afternoon. Marvellous - see you there! As ever I'll get group tickets for those who need it once we're assembled at Charing Cross on the day.

Join Tim on a walk through one of the most beautiful of London's parklands at the most beautiful time of year. Wanstead Park was once the grounds of one of the greatest houses in eighteenth century England, the home of the Tylney family who made their fortune from the East India Company. It was the second largest in England after Blenheim Palace and the grounds swept down to the River Roding. Its history was much older: a Roman villa was discovered here and a later manor house was once used as a prison for Mary, Queen of Scots. It was the scene of one of the great scandals of Regency England when Catherine Tylney-Long, the richest heiress in Britain, married a dissolute rake, a nephew of the Duke of Wellington. In ten years, he managed to spend her fortune and the house was demolished to pay off his debts. Today it remains a spectacularly beautiful park with one of the best displays of bluebells in London. There's a grade 1 listed Georgian church along the way along with Regency stables. The park is a haven for wildlife with kingfishers, owls, woodpeckers and teal all having been spotted. NB: The paths in the park may be a bit muddy and uneven. We meet at 10.45 in Joice Cafe, close to Wanstead tube station (Central Line), to start walking at 11 and we'll return to a pub close by a couple of hours later. The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change.
