Support group: 3rd Tuesday/Round Rock **IN PERSON**
Support group: 3rd Tuesday/Round Rock **IN PERSON**
This is a free, confidential \*\* in person \*\* support group for LGBTQiA+ identified persons, as well as family, friends, and allies of LGBTQiA+ people. WHAT TO EXPECT: We gather at 6:45 pm. We start at 7:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm. Attendees participate in a sharing circle where people discuss issues, ask questions, offer personal experiences, suggest advice and solutions, etc. Attendees have different journeys and experiences, which makes for a large fount of useful and beneficial information, tips, and advice. You may participate in the discussion, or just observe: whatever you feel comfortable doing. Every meeting is different and you will probably find the discussion interesting. You will feel a sense of being connected to others as they share and discuss issues. The discussion is moderated by a facilitator to ensure fairness and to meet the needs of all the attendees. Topics vary by month and by meeting depending upon the needs of those who attend. New attendees almost universally feel very glad that they attended our support groups. While our support groups are for the LGBTQiA+ community and their loved ones and allies, we would also like to encourage significant others of transgender and gender diverse loved ones to join our support groups. We gather at 6:45 pm. We start at 7:00 pm and end at 8:30 pm. **NOTE:** even though many of our support group meetings are held in churches, PFLAG Austin is agnostic with respect to religion. We do not endorse nor discuss religion in our support groups. ABOUT PFLAG AUSTIN: we are a chapter of a national non-profit organization that provides free, confidential support groups for Austin, Texas area LGBTQiA+ persons, along with their family and friends. If you, or someone you care about, has come out as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer, then PFLAG Austin meeting is a great place for you to be!

**🎾 Singles Pickleball 1 week Drop In spot** **When:** Sunday, May 10, 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM **Where:** **Pickleball Kingdom – Pflugerville** 📍 1900 E. Howard Lane (Same lot as Old Gregg Brewery) 💰 **Cost:** $10 per person for the one-week spot. Looking for a fun, active way to meet people in your 40s and 50s — without the pressure of dating apps or serious competition? Whether you're brand new to pickleball or just getting back into it, this is a **beginner-friendly, social league** for people who are more into rallying than rankings. **This is a relaxed, welcoming space — not a high-stakes competition. Each Sunday morning, you’ll rotate partners so everyone gets a chance to mix, mingle, and make new connections — with plenty of laughter and good vibes built in. 🥂 **Bonus Social Time:** After we play, walk over with the group to **Old Gregg Brewery** (in the same parking lot) to keep the conversation going over a drink or bite. \-\-\- **Included in Your $10 Fee:** **Payable via** Venmo @Jennifer-Smith-1188 * 2 Hours of social play 10am-12 noon with the general pickleball league (24 players). Run/Walk WB - We meet at 6:30 and start running/walking at 6:40 sharp!!
**Come join our group of fun and fabulous friends!** **Please note that is a dog friendly event!** We meet and socialize outside on the Whitestone Brewery patio which is completely open to our four-legged friends. If you are looking to make new friends, you have come to the right place. And we offer an opportunity to get in some exercise. The exercise is a bonus and OPTIONAL! We want you to come hang out more than anything. Too cold or too hot or too whatever might keep you from exercising, but please just show up and honor us with your presence. And Whitestone Brewery has offered us Happy Hour pricing for this event! We will meet at 6:30 pm on the patio of Whitestone Brewery to **start our Run/Walk at 6:40 pm**. Please come prepared if you are going to run or walk. It is always important to be hydrated. If you are new to the event, I will make sure you have a "veteran" to run/walk with on the course. See you there, Mike
Let's speak Japanese! (G-town) 日本語を話そう!
Let's speak Japanese! (G-town) 日本語を話そう!
ATTENTION: Please RSVP at least one day before the event! Sometimes this event is moved to private residences, and we don't want to strand anyone. This is a Japanese speakers event in Georgetown, TX! We will be at Share Tea / Nivi Ice Cream in Wolf Ranch, Georgetown. There's plenty of free parking near the eatery. PAYMENT: Since we are using business property, and it's polite if you purchase something from the establishment. $7 should cover most drinks. There's also ice cream available. We are open to speakers of many levels, including beginners, but to get the most out of meeting, you should know hiragana (and hopefully katakana). A great book for self study is Kazki Watanabe's "Japanese For Dogs". https://www.amazon.com/Japanese-Dogs-1-Kazki-Watanabe/dp/1534988173 Answers: https://japanesefordogs.com/

6.6-mile Brushy Creek Regional Trail Evening Hike @ Cedar Park [🔦 Recommended!]
6.6-mile Brushy Creek Regional Trail Evening Hike @ Cedar Park [🔦 Recommended!]
**IMPORTANT:** Due to construction at our previous meeting location which closed down the parking lot we've temporarily moved the starting location to **Brushy Creek Lake Park**. The relevant information has been updated to reflect this. Join us for our **recurring** scenic **6.6-mile (10.6-km)** evening at the Brushy Creek Regional Trail in Cedar Park! We’ll take a relaxed pace through one of the city’s most beautiful trails. The hike should take about **2 hours**. **ℹ️ Additional info** The purpose of this specific event is to have a recurring way for us to meet relatively easily. I want to make sure that recurring events are a "low effort" commitment, ie you don't have to drive 2 hours to get there. In the future once we have more organizers I plan to have more recurring events scheduled so we can cover a larger area. Also, you may have noticed that **this event has an RSVP limit**. This is done for multiple reasons. Not only to ensure that a large group is not disruptive to the rest of the Austin community on the trail, but also to allow us to prioritize the "meetup" experience for every attendee, as having +60 people may be overwhelming, and ultimately the goal of this group is to build a community, not just a collection of individuals that like a specific trail. **📍 Where to Meet** 2310 Brushy Creek Rd, Cedar Park, TX 78613 Google Maps **exact meeting spot link**: https://maps.app.goo.gl/yAzHpoVQdXXAG3XD8 Route on **AllTrails**: [Will be added in the future] **🅿️ Parking** Parking is available directly at the parking lot close to where we'll meet. There will be enough space for everyone. **ℹ️ Recommendations** * Bring good shoes (Although the terrain isn't challenging and relatively flat) * Pack some water (More than you need, just in case) * Bring a friend! (That's my attempt at a shameless self-promo for the group. Although even if you don't, I am confident that you'll get along great with the people you'll meet at the event!) * A flashlight! Your phone is better than nothing, but a dedicated flashlight would only be of benefit of you as the sun sets! **👍 Good to know** * 🐶 Dog-friendly * 👨‍👩‍👧 Family-friendly * ♿ Wheelchair accessible **Event Etiquette (Important!)** * If you RSVP'd, but are unable to make it, please update your attendance as soon as possible. The attendance limit prevents new people from joining if we're at capacity otherwise. If we notice a pattern of you RSVPing to events and not showing up, you will be kicked from this group. * Please show up on time. We will start right at the indicated event time. This is to respect everyones time. If you're a few minutes late, it should not be an issue as the "intro" to the event may take 15 minutes or so, but we will not delay the start until you get there. * Other than that, I know all of you will help me make this group great for everyone. So thanks in advance for that! **Event itinerary** Below is the general outline of how the events are going to function * Updates since last event * Official introductions of everyone * Icebreaker question * The event itself * After event: * (As needed) Updates for next event(s) * Exchange goodbyes **🙂 I want your feedback!** I am working on making this description as informative as possible, if anything is missing, you have any recommendations or there are errors/mistakes, please reach out to me, thanks!

Night Owl Bar - North Austin Atheists
Night Owl Bar - North Austin Atheists
**Time:** 7PM - Whenever **Location:** Night Owl Bar - Leander 203 N Brushy St, Leander, TX 78641 **NOTE:** Meetup only allows me to list 10 guests on the free plan. If the meetup is full, PLEASE STILL COME. Just post a comment to let me know you're coming. If you're an Atheist, Agnostic, Skeptic, going through the process of deconstruction, or simply questioning your faith and want to hang out with some awesome people, come on out to our February meetup! There is generally no major agenda, though this month I do have a discussion topic to get things started: **Discussion Topic - Blind Faith vs Skepticism vs Cynicism** Healthy skepticism helps to ensure that our beliefs match reality. Cynicism, however, can result in a distrust of things even in the face of evidence supporting the thing. With cynicism, conspiracy theories abound. With Blind Faith, anything can be believed even without evidence. So how do you operate as a skeptic without falling into cynicism? How does skepticism impact your beliefs and outlook on life? Are there any areas of your life where you still exercise blind faith? How does trusting in the consensus of experts differ from blind faith in religious texts or authority figures? Our regular meetup starts at 7PM and we usually just chat over drinks and food (though there is no pressure to order anything.) Look forward to seeing all you regulars (and hopefully some new faces too!)
