As Favio describes it, it is “a combination of these two beautiful things in improv.” True to the spirit of improvisation, the simplicity of the structure becomes its greatest strength. Scenes unfold in ways that are sometimes obvious and sometimes surprising, inviting audiences into unexpected connections, emotional depth and moments of shared discovery. Visiting artist Tim Orr brings this format to The Courtyard Playhouse, drawn to its focus on ensemble work, emotional awareness and the joy of shared storytelling. **About Tim Orr** Tim has improvised since 1988 with many San Francisco and international groups, *including BATS Improv*, *True Fiction Magazine, Awkward Dinner Party,* and *3 For All*. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human.
