Wells Branch Trail
Let's hike Wells Branch Trail and walk for 1.5 hours for a total of 4.3 miles. This greenbelt trail is a well-maintained, mostly flat gravel path -- no hiking boots required, but do use your best judgment. Along the way, we’ll pass through several underground tunnels and cross a couple of streets without dedicated pedestrian lights, so we’ll pause to regroup and cross safely together. The trail is mostly shaded and passes through several parks, some with path lighting. Please bring at least 2 liters of water and a flashlight. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the trail!

We’ll meet at the Lake of Wells Branch sign on Mallard Green Ln -- there’s plenty of street parking available at that spot. If your GPS routes you to Mills Pond park entrance instead, there’s a small parking lot there with limited spaces. It’s just a short walk from the Lake of Wells Branch meeting point, so feel free to park there if that’s more convenient.
NOTE: In the event of bad weather, I will issue a cancellation notice at least one hour prior to the event's start time.

Wednesday Evening Walk around Lady Bird Lake from under Mopac @ Stratford Dr.
We will start our walk from the south end of the Roberta Crenshaw bridge located under Mopac (Loop 1) just west of Zilker Park. There is plenty of **free** parking under the highway south of the Colorado River, which is located along Stratford Drive.
\*\*\*\*Alternate parking can be found on the north side of the river at Austin High School. However, the street and lot parking are **paid parking** until 8 pm. The exception is at the gravel lot under the southbound side of Mopac (Loop1) which remains free. Those that choose this parking option should walk across the walking bridge to find us.
**Please note: We'll meet on the trail at the south end of the Roberta Crenshaw walking bridge.**
Our walk will cover about 3 1/2 to 4 miles in an hour and a half, walking at a steady pace with a few short breaks. The route will be a relatively easy, flat trail with possibly a few small climbs.

This is a dog friendly event. We will stay outside on the deck at Red Horn so dogs are welcome!
**We will meet at 9:30 for coffee and head out at 10:00**. The route is a beautiful out and back. We will have a turnaround spot at 1.5 miles but anyone needing to turn back sooner is welcome to. And for our overachievers, you will have time to do go an extra mile if you choose. No special shoes required. Bringing water, sunscreen, and a cap/hat is highly recommended.

Hike Gertrude S. Lawrence Hoover Nature Preserve near Galena
This trail is a meandering path through the woods. There will be some overlooks and a couple stops at the creek as well as time along a waterway. It will not be a fast paced hike. There is some elevation change and uneven terrain. I will be using poles just to be safe! Will aim to get in about three miles.

Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country.
